TITLE: Mechanical Testing Staff

REPORTS TO: Lab Manager



The Mechanical Testing Staff is responsible for the execution of mechanical testing for ACT Lab’s clients to ensure compliance with applicable standards. The Mechanical Testing staff will be responsible for maintaining test equipment, utilizing equipment for product testing, and reporting results back to the Manager of Mechanical Testing to determine the next course of action.


· Conduct routine testing

· Record test data and be able to analyze and communicate results (e.g. notice irregularities)

· Carry out routine equipment maintenance

· Install and operate equipment and systems

· Maintain a clean working environment

· Follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies

· Follow all quality protocols and report any discrepancies to the Manager of Mechanical Testing

· May be assigned special or ad hoc projects


· Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Required

· Experience: 1-2 years mechanical testing experience a plus, especially experience and familiarity with bicycles and outdoors sporting goods

· Training: Participate in company mandated training and be able to demonstrate ability to conduct testing independently at conclusion of training

· Technical knowledge: Strong foundational knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts and ability to apply concepts to quality control testing


o Good hand/eye coordination when handling samples and various equipment

o Must be able to read, understand, and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate, and timely manner

o Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other basic office computer skills/software

o Strong attention to detail, able to work well under pressure

o Good time management and communication skills

o Ability to work well with others and independently

o English speaking, reading, and writing skills a plus (for non-English speaking locations)

o Mandarin/Vietnamese speaking, reading, and writing skills a plus (for non-Mandarin/Vietnamese speaking locations)
