Consumer Product Testing For an Active World

The 2025 Amendment to the Road Vehicle Standards (Classes of Vehicles that are not Road Vehicles) Determination updates how certain low-speed, pedal-assisted electric bicycles are classified under Australian vehicle import rules. The amendment  “amends the definition of power-assisted pedal cycle to mean only a vehicle that meets the definition in EN15194:2017, or other later version,” and “removes the secondary definitions for electrically power-assisted cycle and power-assisted pedal cycle.” This restores regulatory clarity on what types of electric assist bicycles and similar devices are not road vehicles for import and compliance purposes.

Our latest guide explores the Amazon Document Verification (DV) program and how ACT Lab helps you turn compliance into a competitive advantage. Many listings require rigorous third-party testing, and missing documentation can quickly lead to suppressed listings, blocked inventory, or serious account issues. At ACT Lab, we specialize in helping sellers by providing expert testing and document validation for critical standards, including UL 2272 and UL 2849 for e-mobility, CPSC 16 CFR 1512 for bicycles, and CPSIA, ASTM F963, and EN-71 for children’s toys, as well as specialized requirements for dietary supplements.
No matter what specific compliance challenges you face while selling on Amazon, ACT is here for you with the expertise.

The European Commission has published Regulation (EU) 2025/2509, a major update to EU toy safety rules that replaces the Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC. The new regulation strengthens requirements to better protect children by tightening chemical restrictions, updating safety rules for physical, mechanical, electrical, and flammability risks, and addressing modern challenges like online sales and traceability. A key change is the introduction of a Digital Product Passport, which will provide digital access to compliance and safety information for toys sold in the EU. While the regulation officially entered into force in January 2026, manufacturers and sellers have a transition period, with full compliance required by August 1, 2030.
