ACT Lab Offers Free Consultations at Outdoor Retailer, July 23-26

After attending Eurobike in Friedrichshafen, Germany earlier this month, ACT Lab is headed to Denver for the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market show next week.

ACT invites attendees of the show to visit its booth, #54152-UL, to receive a free “5 on 65” 5-minute consultation about California’s Proposition 65. New warning labeling requirements will take effect this August 30th, and representatives from ACT Lab have noted that there is widespread interest, inquiry and confusion about the changes. With fines of $2,500 per day per violation, it’s critical to be in compliance with the far-reaching law, and ACT Lab is happy to answer questions and offer suggestions to suppliers, manufacturers, and retailers.

For more information about what’s changing with CA Prop 65 and how it could affect your company, ACT Lab recommends watching this webinar, produced by the Outdoor Industry Association in June, 2018.

International ISO Standards Group Meeting

ISO Committee members gather in front of the St. Paul, MN skyline at an evening social event during last month’s meeting.

Over the course of 5 days in June, an international contingent of bicycle industry representatives and stakeholders convened in Bloomington, MN to discuss the next evolution of international bicycle safety and performance standards. Participating organizations included Trek Bicycles, Quality Bicycle Products, SRAM, Gates, Advanced Sports Enterprises, Specialized, Accell Group, Shimano, Bosch, Bafang, ACT Lab, CPSC and many other industry leaders, brands, and regulatory representatives.
Topics of discussion were the adoption of the European Electric Bicycle Safety Standard (EPAC) and additional amendments to the currently published international ISO 4210 standard governing Mountain, Road, City/Trekking and Young Adult type bicycles. The group made progress and voted in many areas, but more work remains before these proposals will be adopted.
